Overview
Music Recognition is a song identifier and music discovery app. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be processed when you use the app to identify songs, save history, discover music, create playlists, share songs, or make tones.
Information you provide or create
The app may process information that you choose to provide or create while using the service, including:
- Recognized song history, favorite tracks, playlists, and search activity.
- Music links or local video files that you ask the app to recognize.
- Approximate discovery context, including Music Map location data if you enable location-based features.
- App settings, preferences, purchase status, and restoration information.
Audio, microphone, and media access
Music Recognition asks for microphone access so it can capture ambient audio for song recognition. Audio snippets are used to identify the music you request. The app may also request access to local videos or media files when you choose to recognize music from those sources.
If Apple Music access is requested, it is used to sync music preferences or improve music discovery features after you grant permission.
Location information
Music Map can help you remember where you found a song. Location information is only used for location-based discovery history when the feature is enabled and permission is granted. You can change location permissions in iOS Settings at any time.
How information is used
Information may be used to:
- Identify songs, humming, linked music, or music in local videos.
- Save and display your recognition history, favorites, playlists, and Music Map entries.
- Recommend songs, albums, playlists, charts, and related music details.
- Enable sharing, ringtone, alarm tone, and notification sound features.
- Maintain app security, troubleshoot issues, improve performance, and support purchases.
Third-party services
The app may rely on third-party services for song recognition, music metadata, recommendations, playback-related information, analytics, subscriptions, or crash diagnostics. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
Data retention
Recognition history, favorites, playlists, and settings may remain on your device or account until you delete them, reset the app, or uninstall the app. Some operational records may be retained for as long as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, or prevent abuse.
Your choices
You can control many privacy choices directly from your device:
- Change microphone, media, Apple Music, and location permissions in iOS Settings.
- Delete recognized songs, playlists, or favorites inside the app where supported.
- Stop using optional features such as Music Map, sharing, or local video recognition.
- Contact support through the App Store listing if you need help with privacy requests.
Children
The app is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law to consent to digital services. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact support through the App Store listing.
Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. When it changes, the updated date above will be revised. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
